Meet Alan Pardee

Alan Pardee was born and raised in Manhattan, starting out on the West Side and growing up on New York’s Upper East Side. The son of a New Yorker and a Dominican immigrant, Alan’s parents instilled in him from an early age a commitment to helping others and taking on big fights on behalf of those who all too often get left behind.

For more than thirty years Alan has built a successful career in New York City in finance. From Managing Director at Merrill Lynch to Managing Partner and co-founder of Mercury Capital Advisors, Alan and has spent his career helping to build businesses of all sizes - and creating thousands of good paying jobs across the city and the country.  He knows how to work with teams of people to achieve common-sense solutions for tough problems.

Through it all, Alan has worked to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing his community - especially those surrounding issues of hunger and food insecurity that impact one in three New Yorkers. Alan has been an active volunteer for and board member of New York Common Pantry. There, he’s helped to raise millions of dollars from families, businesses, and charitable and religious organizations to support programs that reduce food insecurity while promoting dignity, health and self-sufficiency for every New Yorker.

Alan’s wife Sally is also a lifelong New Yorker, and a graduate of NYU Law School. They are the proud parents of two, raising their family just blocks from where Alan grew up. Alan is an active member of his church and regularly sings in a choir on Sundays in addition to being an active member of its social justice ministry.

Alan is running for Congress because he’s seen first-hand how the affordability and food insecurity crisis are impacting everyday New Yorkers - and how career politicians are failing to meet the moment. From housing to hunger to the weak response to the threats posed by Donald Trump, Alan knows we need new leadership and strength in Washington.

He’s spent his life taking on big challenges on behalf of New Yorkers - and that’s exactly what he’ll do in Congress.

"I’ve spent my life rolling up my sleeves and getting things done for people who need it most - and that’s what I’ll do in Congress."
