New York, NY — After six months of active campaigning and engagement with thousands of New Yorkers across every walk of life, Alan Pardee today announced the suspension of his congressional campaign.

“I am proud of the campaign we have run. I knew when I began our campaign that it would be an uphill climb. After discussions with my family, friends, and supporters, I have come to the conclusion that my path does not lead to Congress this year. So I have made the difficult decision to step out of this race, and double down on my efforts to address the food insecurity and affordability crises that continue to affect so many hard-working families in New York”, Pardee said.

Pardee expressed deep gratitude to a broad coalition of supporters whose donations, volunteerism, and enthusiasm powered the campaign. In a statement earlier today to supporters, Pardee wrote:

“I got into this race because, like so many New Yorkers, I am frustrated by how the political class operates in Washington and in general. Bringing fresh ideas, a businessperson’s perspective, and a genuine understanding of what families in this district are experiencing is what our campaign has always been about.”

Drawing on a 30-year career in financial services and extensive nonprofit leadership, including roles as spokesperson, board member, and active volunteer at New York Common Pantry, Pardee put forward a platform centered on real solutions for working families. His campaign presented a vision for a Congress that functions effectively and delivers tangible results for New Yorkers.

“I look forward to working together with all of you to advance an agenda that cuts taxes for middle-class and lower-income families, builds more housing to create affordable opportunities for working people, and welcomes hard-working immigrants while regularizing those already here, policies that will grow our economy and benefit everyone,” Pardee added.

Pardee also announced plans to actively support solutions-oriented Democratic candidates in future races, with the goal of building sustainable majorities in the House and Senate. Additionally, he will continue his work with New York Common Pantry in the fight against food insecurity across the city.

“To every volunteer, donor, and supporter: thank you. Your trust, encouragement, and generosity have been humbling. The work continues.” Pardee said.
